A Siddha Guru is a spiritual master who lives in constant awareness of his identity with the Supreme Self. A Siddha Guru is distinguished by their unique ability to awaken the spiritual energy of seekers, kundalini, through shaktipat initiation.

Gurumayi Chidvilasananda is a Siddha Guru who has followed the path of yoga under the guidance of her own Guru, Swami Muktananda. Before leaving this world in 1982, Swami Muktananda imparted to her the spiritual power and lineage authority of Siddha Yoga.

Gurumayi teaches the message of the Siddhas, namely that a human being can, during their lifetime, experience the divine consciousness. Gurumayi constantly invites us to turn inward, where it is possible to access this state.

As a Siddha Guru, Gurumayi’s mission is to awaken seekers to their spiritual potential, and she fulfills this role by granting them shaktipat. Through her teaching, writings, teaching programs and Siddha Yoga study materials, she guides them along the mystical journey to God, helping them to overcome their limits and achieve the goal. Gurumayi shows a lot of love and respect for children, carriers of our future, and she has written books and songs for them.

Gurumayi’s teaching is made available to researchers of all ages and from all countries thanks to the work of the SYDA Foundation.
