“When you meditate, the silence of the senses enlightens the inner presence of God. “
Gurumayi Chidvilasananda in Enthusiasm
No matter who we are, what we do, what we own or not, we all have the ability to meditate. Once this ability has been awakened through shaktipat initiation , our meditation naturally deepens and brings us to our goal, Self-realization.
Meditation is the practice of directing attention inward. It invites us to discover the greatest mystery of existence: in our human form, we are also divine. When the mind calms down in meditation, we are irresistibly drawn to the presence of God within us, like bees to honey. In contact with this truth, our agitation ceases and we are overwhelmed by the awareness of our perfection, of our divinity.
The Siddha Yoga Intensives, during which shaktipat is given, offer a unique environment specially designed to begin or deepen the practice of meditation. Thereafter, by plunging ourselves back into this state every day, if only for a short time, we find that our understanding of things gradually changes. We find that the natural state of meditation is accessible to us even during our daily activities. We find that God is closer to us than our breath. We feel that the divine presence permeates our daily universe.
